The Musical Theater Program at Inspire School of Ballet aims to support students ages 6 and up on their journey to become stage performers. Courses focus on helping MT@ISB students develop theirs skills as singers, dancers, and actors so they are ready to enter the performing arts world as triple threats!

Join MT@ISB's Mr. Michael for another fun musical theater camp during Spring Break! Our newest series will be based on material from the latest and greatest of what Broadway has to offer such as Dear Evan Hansen, Six, Beetlejuice, and more!
Clear your Spring Break calendars from March 28th thru April 1st so you can be a part of this exciting event. Participants will work on script, dance, and songs from various productions.

ENCANTO CAMP
5 day camp begins June 20th 2022
As part of this amazing workshop, performers ages 6 to 10 will learn have fun learning to sing, dance, and act with MT@ISB's director Mr. Michael Kirsch. This event is perfect for both experienced students and young performers just beginning their journey.
Clear your calendars from June 20th to 24th from 9am-1pm so you can be a part of this exciting event. Participants will work on script, dance, and songs from Disney's Encanto.

LIN-MANUEL MANIA CAMP
5 day camp begins June 27th 2022
As part of this amazing workshop, performers ages 10 and up will learn have fun learning to sing, dance, and act with MT@ISB's director Mr. Michael Kirsch. This event is perfect for students ready to get started as musical theater performers, experienced triple threats, and returning MT@ISB members.
Clear your calendars from June 27th to July 1st from 9am-1pm so you can be a part of this exciting event. Participants will work on script, dance, and songs composed by the inimitable Lin-Manuel Miranda.

YEAR-ROUND CLASSES
BROADWAY BEGINNER TAP
2021-2022 School Year
This level is for beginning performers who would like to improve their dance skills by working on tap rhythms, musicality, and footwork. It is recommended for new and current MT@ISB students ages 10 and up.
Class offered on Thursdays 7:30pm-8:15pm.
BROADWAY JAZZ
2021-2022 School Year
This level is for beginning performers who would like to improve their dance skills by working on jazz choreography, musicality, and turns. It is recommended for new and current MT@ISB students ages 10 and up.
Class offered on Wednesdays 4pm-5pm.
First Experience = Success!
I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for making my daughter's first experience with musical theater a success. She attended the audition work shop last night and hasn't stopped glowing, dancing, and singing since. No matter the outcome of this audition, the experience after just one session has been so amazing. Mr. Michaels energy was infectious and even after teaching the same workshop for 3 hours - he had just as much energy at the end of the night as I am sure he did earlier! WOW! We are so thankful for everything you do and are really looking forward to being involved!!

Meet The Director
Michael Kirsch
Michael Kirsch is a Southern California native with a huge passion for the performing arts. He began his theatrical career at age 3 and performed locally and professionally throughout Southern California. His most notable performing credit was the National Tour and Broadway Production of Peter Pan starring Cathy Rigby.
He went to school in New York City where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Theatre Arts Performance with a minor in Musical Theatre from Marymount Manhattan College. While at Marymount, he was the President of both the Residence Hall Council and the Musical Theatre Association; where he created multiple performing opportunities for the students, including full length musicals and workshops. During his second year at Marymount, Michael was exposed to the world of directing and choreographing during the full school musical Sweet Charity, where he associate directed and choreographed for Broadway’s Jeff Shade.
His most notable off-Broadway directing credit was for the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) where he was the associate director for Mother, Wife, and the Complicated Life. He most recently directed Legally Blonde Jr., Seussical Jr., Shrek Jr. and All Shook Up. He is excited to be in San Diego and loves teaching and directing young performers and sharing his passion and knowledge of theatre with his students.
Most recently, Mr. Michael has helped launch the Musical Theater program at Inspire School of Ballet, featuring the Intro to Musical Theater and Musical Theater 6-week workshops where students learned to develop their skills as triple-threat performers.
